Story behind the piece:
“We set out for a hike around Emerald Lake in the late morning. As we left the forest and reached the open trail along the lake, I noticed how calm the water was. I thought to myself that such perfect, mirror-like reflections are quite unusual for mountain lakes late in the morning. The light snowfall from the previous night perfectly outlined the avalanche slope, causing my heart to race with excitement. I grabbed my gear from my pack and started taking photos when I heard my wife shout from a short distance, saying she had found a better vantage point. I quickly picked up my pack, camera in hand, and walked a few meters over a bump in the trail. Sure enough, this new vantage point was perfect. When I posted the photo online, people remarked that they saw a fox in it, which inspired me to name the picture "Solitary."
