Emily Sissons, Co-Founder, VP Sales + Design, BAID

As the captain of the Domaine design team’s ever-so-stylish ship, Emily leads with a keen eye for design, a love of all things mid-century and a natural ability to encourage her team to be bold.

She graduated in 2007 with her Bachelor Degree in Interior Design, and after spending some time in healthcare and commercial design, realized that her heart had always really belonged to residential design. With a long family history in furniture behind her, the idea for a retail space that would be unlike any other in Calgary was born. Over time her adoration for people and products has grown. It has become her design mission to take on every project with the end goal of making every client feel “at home” at home.

When she is taking moments away from the design world you can find her rocking her role as a mama, loving animals, immersing herself in art history and finding new places to travel to … her most memorable destinations being family trips to Europe, her hike to the top of Machu Pichu and a trip to the Galapagos Islands with her husband, Jeremy. As her mind swirls with new ideas for fabric palettes and space plans, she always leaves a little bit of room to think about “where to next?” …

Fiona Fidelak, Assistant Design Manager

Fiona is the fierce and focused co-caption of the previously mentioned Domaine design ship and has spent her years at Domaine exhibiting an unwavering dedication and natural talent for designing beautifully put together interior spaces. She can back all this talent up with her diploma in Interior Decorating and Merchandising from Bow Valley College, along with several years in the furniture and design world. She loves a variety of styles when it comes to design, and at the end of the day, it’s never just about one specific style or trend … it is most important to her that each space she designs is chock full of beauty, personality, and comfort.

Fiona was born in the UK and moved to Canada at a young age. She is a fierce, hard-working, multi-tasking career woman, mama and wife, and can be found living life to the fullest with her close-knit group of family and friends.

Heidi Marcia (D.I.D), Interior Designer

Heidi is our dairy farm raised B.C. born talent. At a young age you'd find her painting + wallpapering her childhood home, which eventually led her to Vancouver Island University in pursuit of a diploma in Interior Design.

Heidi brings with her 2 decades of Interior Design experience - with many years spent in furniture and freelance Interior Design. She has a talent for understanding her client’s needs and believes that scale + proportion, with a side of cozy are KEY when designing the perfect space. Her Interior Design inspirations can be found in fashion, art, social media, and culture. Her laugh can be heard throughout every corner of our showroom, and she loves to spoil our team more than she should – offering coffees + gifts – always bringing joy.

On her time off you can find her exploring Calgary with her 3 adorable puggles: Coco, Winnie and Bunnie or driving west towards the sun to visit her besties in Okanagan.

Michelle Brodrick, Interior Designer + Visual Merchandise Manager, BAID

Michelle has been with Domaine basically since its birth. She has worn many hats during the past ‘decade-plus’ that she has been part of this talented team: designer, salesperson, furniture lover, buyer, inventory specialist, computer fixer, price tagger, website updater, manager, and more.

At the core of it all, however, Michelle has always just plainly loved furniture. With a Bachelor’s degree in interior design, she loves dealing with people and their spaces, and has a knack for merchandising, space planning and sketching. Michelle loves design and all that is involved in bringing a client’s ideas to life.

On her time off she can be found wrangling her two little girlies and enjoying time with friends, listening to music, and unwinding with some trashy reality TV.

Kelsey Bandmann (D.I.D), Interior Designer

Kelsey is a boss when it comes to handling the technical side of design. She is our in-office Sketchup guru and can be found pumping out floor plans and renderings galore. She was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario and moved to Alberta over 10 years ago. In her younger years she could be found watching HGTV on repeat and telling anyone who asked that she was going to be an Interior Designer when she grew up.

Kelsey has a diploma from the Interior Design Technology Program at Lethbridge College. She has worked in cabinetry, where she gained knowledge and expertise in precision and detail. She is drawn to organic style and Scandinavian design. She has an innate ability to connect with her clients and make them feel at ease as she guides them through the overwhelming yet wonderful world of design.

During her time off you can find her exploring the vibrant streets of downtown YYC, hiking in the mountains, or unwinding with some yoga during a cozy night at home.
