This project was a study in balance: honoring the past while inviting the light of the present into a space that had grown a little tired and dark. Our goal was to breathe new life into the living and dining areas, seamlessly integrating the client's storied antiques and an exquisite original art collection. She envisioned a sanctuary, an airy, peaceful retreat that could transition effortlessly from a quiet afternoon to a lively evening of card games with family and friends.

In the dining room, we chose to celebrate the soul of the home by professionally refinishing the client’s original extension table, a piece that functioned perfectly but needed a visual refresh. We paired it with new, transitional chairs that offer both supreme comfort and a bright, textural contrast to the traditional woodwork. A custom-painted cream cabinet provides elegant storage for heirloom dishes, while a strategically placed round mirror captures natural light and reflects the curated art, expanding the room’s visual footprint.

The living room serves as the heart of this "ethereal" transformation. Wrapped in crushed velvets and soft, calming tones, the new furnishings bring clean lines that complement rather than compete with the client’s antique treasures. As natural light floods the room, it amplifies the serene atmosphere, resulting in a beautifully layered space where every piece feels collected, intentional, and—above all—home.
